Pressure washing is a great way to brighten up your home and bring life back into it. Uncovering secret patios that you never knew you had can be a great investment and sometimes very satisfying to watch.

As much fun as it is, pressure washing can unfortunately damage a lot of materials in a lot of different ways and unless you know what you're doing you could end up chipping the surface of end up with an orange peel all over your slabs or driveway.

Pressure washers have become a staple view for most housing estates and unfortunately this isn't always a rewarding sight.
Many people aren't aware of what a pressure washer can and can't do so we've compiled a short list for you to see what options there are.

Can do:

• Driveways - asphalt, concrete, brick, slabs
• Houses - brick, tile, cladded, most types of render
• Perimeter walls - brick, iron, wood
• Graffiti removal from any type of solid stone, artificial stone, metal or plastic.

Can't do:

Unfortunately people end up damaging homes by pressure washing the wrong things. With this in mind, we recommend avoiding the following:

Tiled roofs- tiled roofs look amazing when pressure washed so there's no wondering why people do it. However you could be stripping off up-to 80 years of your life of your tiles if done, even at low speeds. Most manufactures recommend against it as there are safer ways to do it which require less pressure and ensure a longer lasting life of your roof. Pebble dashed wall skin - Another bad habit to get into is pressure washing pebble dash wall skins. this may seem obvious because of all the pebbles flying off, but what some people don't know is that when those pebbles are taken off the remaining skin is so thin is can easily become permeable leading to much bigger problems.
